  5. This is version 3.0 of tar for the Macintosh.  This version is now
  6. 7.0-compatible.  Besides some bug fixes, there are new features:

  8.     * Tar will now create and use a preferences file.
  9.       Tar will thus remember any options you have selected.
  10.  
  11.     * Tar will now extract and convert MS-DOS style line
  12.       endings (CR/LF) to Macintosh sytle (CR).
  13.  
  14.     * Tar will now read/write floppy disks, allowing exchange
  15.       of tar archives with Unix systems with a floppy.
  16.
